ESL Workplace
NOVA wants you to feel confident with your personal and business interactions! The College’s English as a Second Language program is designed to prepare students for success in the community and workplace and for enrollment in the College’s credit courses. The ESL programs emphasize the development of the writing, reading, speaking and listening skills necessary for success in college-level courses. The English placement test places students into various levels of proficiency. The credit program is available for students who score at Level II or above on the ACCUPLACER, a test for English proficiency. This program leads directly into academic study.
In-state and out-of-state tuition guidelines apply to the credit ESL programs, and financial aid is available for those who qualify. If a student scores below Level II or does not meet the F-1 student visa admission requirements of the College, a fulltime ESL program may be available through Continuing Education.
English as a Second Language aims to provide accessible, high quality ESL instruction at all levels, to speakers of other languages in the Washington Metropolitan area. The Institute can provide language instruction to accommodate the needs of business and industry. Training can be customized and provided on site.
