Welcome to NOVA Police
The Police Department at Northern Virginia Community College is excited to be part of our academic community. Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment for the enjoyment of students, faculty, staff and visitors at all of our campus locations. Please feel free to call or email any member of our Police Department to request or comment on our police services.
All NOVA police officers are fully trained and certified by the Department of Criminal Justice Services of the Commonwealth of Virginia. There is a police station located on each NOVA campus that is staffed by certified police officers and a Sergeant supervisor. The police are on duty twenty-four hours a day, every day. All sworn and civilian members of the department are dedicated to the public safety at the college.
NOVA's police officers perform routine duties on foot, in cars and on bicycles. Our officers have all the arrest powers provided for police officers by Virginia Law and utilize those powers as necessary when protecting life and property on campus. NOVA patrol officers respond to all police, fire or medical emergency calls. Our police investigate all criminal matters on campus, often with the assistance of other police jurisdictions.
The NOVA Police Department is a full service police agency. Our officers will be happy to assist you with a prompt, knowledgeable and professional response to calls for police service.
