Annandale Business and Professional Women  The Annandale Chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s  Club offers need based scholarships to students already enrolled in or attending a college, university, or trade school.  For further information and application materials, write:  Annandale BPW, Scholarship Committee, P. Arlington County Sheriff’s Office  Together with the Virginia Sheriff’s Institute,  the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office has gathered funds for a scholarship program designed to provide opportunity to students who would like to pursue a career in law enforcement or criminal justice.  You must be a Arlington resident to be eligible.  Submit application materials to:  Virginia Sheriff’s Institute, 701 East Franklin Street, Suite 706, Richmond, VA.  23219.  For further information, call: 804-225-7152. 

Bailey Family Foundation. Possess a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5. Demonstrate financial need. Applicants must be enrolled or accepted to one of the participating schools listed on the scholarship application. http://www.bailey-family.org

Coca-Cola Two-Year Colleges Scholarship Program You must be a US citizen or permanent resident. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have completed at least 100 community service hours within the 12 previous months as validated by a school official.  You must plan to enroll the next term of the two-year institution and not be a child of a coca-cola employee. Clairol Scholarship Program  Business and Professional Women’s Foundation supports women 30 years of age and older who are pursuing their career goals or retraining for a better job.  Awards up to $1,000 are available for full-time or part-time study in vocational schools, undergraduate college degree programs or graduate work at the master’s level.  Send a self-addressed stamped envelope to:  Attn: Scholarships and Loans, 2012 Massachusetts Avenue, NW., Washington, DC.  20036.  For more information, call:  202-293-1100. 

The David and Dovetta Wilson Scholarship Fund  Eligible applicants must be college-bound high school seniors with at least a “B” average.  Must be actively involved in community or religious service, have financial need, provide proof of acceptance to an accredited college/university, and have references.  Send a self-addressed stamped envelope to:  The David and Dovetta Wilson Scholarship Fund, P. Elks National Foundation  The Elks Foundation offers a program that is open to any prospective student planning to pursue an eligible Vocational/Technical curriculum above and supplemental to high school  or preparatory school level.  A high school diploma or GED is not required.  Completion must result in an associate degree, diploma, or certificate.  Full-time enrollment is required.  For further information, contact your local Elks Foundation.  Elks National Foundation of the United States of America, 2750 N. Higher Education Teacher Assistant Program (HETAP):  This new scholarship program was established by SCHEV to help address the teacher shortage in Virginia by assisting undergraduate students enrolled in a K-12 teacher preparation program. Preference is given to students enrolled in a teacher shortage content area identified by the Virginia Department of Education. http://www.schev.edu

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program is open to students who currently attend a community college or two-year institution located in the United States and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university.  The award will provide funding for tuition, room and board, required fees, and books for the remainder of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar’s undergraduate degree.  Award amounts will vary for each recipient based on the institution he or she attends. Scholarship monies not used during the one academic year are not transferable to the next academic year.  The scholarship is renewable for each year of the undergraduate study if the scholar continues to meet the program requirements.  http://www.jackkentcookefoundation.org/

Louise  S. Henderson Scholarship  Priority for this scholarship is given to homemakers, working women, or full-time students who are residents of the Washington Metropolitan Area.  The dollar amount may vary, with the maximum be $1,000.  Mail applications to;  Louise S. The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of current or former United States Marines; and to deserving sons and daughters of current or former United States Navy Corpsmen who have served with the United States Marine Corps, in their pursuit of higher education. http://www.marine-scholars.org/

Northern Virginia Scholarship Fund, Inc.   Altrusa International Inc. of Northern Virginia sponsors one or more scholarships to students who are working toward a degree or certificate that will allow them to better serve their community.  Must demonstrate financial need and educational intentions.  For application materials, write to:  Northern Virginia Scholarships Fund, Inc., c/o Ms. Helen Morrison, 8222 Terra Grande Avenue, Springfield, VA.  22153.

Target Scholarship:  The Target All-Around Scholarship is managed entirely by CSFA and CSFA will screen the applications and make final selections.  You may be full or part time student.  You have to be 24 or younger. Previous recipients and employees are not eligible.   www.target.com

Teacher Education Scholarship Program  Funded through the Commonwealth of Virginia, The Virginia Space Grant Consortium provides scholarships to students working toward a degree in teaching mathematics and science.  Maximum amount of awards are $1,000, for full-time undergraduate students.  Applicants should submit one original and 6 copies of all materials to:  The Virginia Space Grant Consortium, Old Dominion University Peninsula center, 2713-D Magruder Boulevard, Hampton, VA. 23666.  http://www.vsgc.odu.edu

Virginia Foster Care Grant: In 2000, legislation passed that created a new grant program.
